The DTS Girls Applied Science Club is founded upon key principles.

First, an acknowledgment that STEAM educational (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics) efforts for girls continues to struggle to maintain engagement. The greatest challenge is here, hence our initial focus is here.

Second, our local schools are working diligently to meet standards, requirements, and fulfill their mission. Integrated external support and resources can expand educational opportunities to our students.

Third, girls learn differently than boys, resulting in an opportunity to apply different techniques to educational opportunities especially in STEAM related areas.
